Pdf Creation

2007-05-03 22:40:24		Hello, I have just migrated over to Creative Pro Office, and I must say that I am impressed. I am migrating from a open source billing software called bamboo invoice: http://www.bambooinvoice.org . One thing I am missing is pdf creation of the invoice so I can save it as a file. Can this be a future possibility?

2007-05-04 02:01:53		An earlier version of CPO actually featured PDF invoice creation. I just haven't bothered to roll that into this new version yet. I'll move this up the priority list a bit since much of the work has already been done.

i'm here in the morning and in the evening, rest of the day i'm at work and can't really go of-focus from my projects (mean bosses, u see). i'll submit some code for my ideas as soon as i have something brag-able-about.

2007-05-04 02:48:48		You're right about the last post being incorrect - I just noticed that myself and (I hope) fixed it...I'm about to find out.

I'd love to see something worked up - even it it's pseudo code for the time being. Just getting my head around the processes involved and the order of operations will be a bit work.

2007-05-10 12:03:00		Invoices now have PDF download capability. Check the Actions menu in the invoice list view and you'll see a new menu item called Download PDF. Currently, this feature does support multiple currencies, but not UTF-8...that will be implemented shortly.

I'm using the FPDF tool (http://www.fpdf.org/) which is great to use but simply doesn't support UTF-8. So, I'm going to have a look at a Unicode/UTF-8 extension for FPDF available at http://acko.net/node/56.

I'll keep you posted.

2007-05-16 15:38:09		No problem at all, jive. I appreciate the compliment and I'm glad you're happy with the PDF feature - there's more to come but I want to get the job timer done first.

As an update, SebyM was kind enough to send me an extension for FPDF that he and a colleague developed that will provide UTF-8 support for CPO PDF's. I just need to sit down with it for a couple of hours and get it installed. Thanks SebyM!

2007-11-19 08:24:24		Would it possible to offer the option to attach the PDF to the email that is sent? Seems many client, while loving the formatted email invoice, also like to have a PDF to save for their records. And by not sending it automatically means I have to send them another invoice email manually with PDF attached.

ALMOST a great, great tool by the way! ;o)
